The Racers pull ahead after the opening Grand Slam in Kingston

Nothing is decided yet, but after the first Grand Slam event, the Racers hold the upper hand over the Challengers, leading by 29 points.

The Racers dominate in key events — especially the women’s long sprint, the men’s short sprint, and the men’s long hurdles. But it hasn’t been a clean sweep. The Challengers have shown real strength too, notably taking control in the women's hurdles, both short and long.

All eyes now turn to Miami next weekend, where the standings could shift dramatically. Will the Racers extend their lead, or will the Challengers strike back?

Hicham El Guerrouj is the top guy

When it comes to world-class consistency in the 1500m, Hicham El Guerrouj stands out as the number one. He achieved an impressive streak of 11 consecutive years on the annual top 10 1500m list — eight of those years at the number one spot.

The only two athletes on the leaderboard who are still active are Timothy Cheruiyot and Jakob Ingebrigtsen, with 8 and 9 top 10 placements respectively. They are closing in on the top spot. It will be exciting to see if they succeed in overtaking it in the coming years.
